What is conveyancing? |
|
Once a sale has been agreed you appoint a solicitor to complete the legal work involved in buying a property. This process is known as conveyancing. It makes sure that the person selling the property is entitled to do so, that when you pay for the house, it is yours, and you can move in, and that there are no nasty shocks in store (for example, that a road is planned straight through your living room). The Solicitor draws up the contracts and arranges the transfer of funds. Remember it is unlikely for your solicitor to ever see the property you are buying. Therefore if there are any things that you are particularly worried about, for example the boundary of a shared driveway and who should maintain it, you should ask your solicitor. He or she can then make specific enquiries. Apricot Estates only recommends solicitors based on our experience of
their professionalism. |
